Just a short note about myself – nothing too exciting I can assure you.
My first position within the Association was Office Junior at age 16 after I left Springburn College in November 1977. Over the years I have been Typist, Receptionist, Housing Assistant and more recently Senior Housing Assistant which involves operating the Association’s External Waiting List and Sheltered List and any other duties thrown at me.
I cannot believe how 33 years have gone by and indeed how the area has changed and developed.
Many things have happened in Reidvale over this time and I must say I am very proud to have been part of it. Working here has not only been a job for me but in the early years was a big part of my life when I was also heavily involved in community activities within the area.
For many years I volunteered for the Reidvale Summer Playscheme and took annual leave to help out with the trips/events organised for local children – this I thoroughly enjoyed and had some great laughs with both the children and volunteers. In recent years I helped run the Pensioners Bingo Evenings with local women which took place once a month.
Hopefully I will continue to enjoy my job until I retire which is not that far in the distant future considering how fast the last 33 years have gone.
Well that’s all from me folks - hope I haven’t bored you too much.
