RESULT OF THE RENT INCREASE CONSULTATION 2024/25
Reidvale Housing Association carried out a rent consultation with our tenants during the period from 5th January 20024 to 14th February 2024 when we asked all our tenants to give their opinion on our proposal to increase rents by 10% from 28th March 2024.
Tenants were advised it is good practice for landlords to give tenants rent increase options to choose from, specifying what each option can deliver for tenants in terms of services etc. However, the Association's financial position means that we could not offer options below 10%, and the Association felt it would not be fair to tenants to raise rent more than 10% given the continued cost of living crisis.
The consultation was sent to all 898 tenanted properties with a total of 153 responses received, equating to 17.04% of the maximum potential response. Tenants were asked to give their views by participating in the consultation process by the closing date of 14th February 2024.
